Not One LessIt's interesting watching a movie that isn't in English. It was also a lot harder to take notes for this movie because it was harder to tell what emotion the characters were having. Because the way they speak Chinese makes the voice inflection seem quite different. By reading the writing it looked like they were sort of made sometimes, but they didn't always sound mad because of the way Chinese people talk. I felt sort of sorry for Wei Minzhi when she was at the school for the first time. She seemed to have no idea whatsoever what she was doing. All she knew about was that Gao wanted her to not let any children leave the school, until the right time. She just seemed so stressed and confused. I am kind of annoyed that they tried to take a student away without her consent, but she was kind of overreacting about it though. It's almost sad how stubborn she is. She kept on trying to do things that were sort of beyond her. It was so terrible watching the chalk get all squashed and crushed. It was really interesting watching the part where Zhang Huike reads the diary of one of the other students. Listening to the music it obviously must have been a very revealing moment, but it didn't seem like it because I couldn't understand what they were saying, even though I was reading the subtitles, it was just a lot harder to think of that moment being a very important moment. It was weird, but cool. When Wei Minzhi was saying that they should work at the factory, even though the boss wasn't there, I was just waiting for it to blowup in their faces. And it turns out that it did blowup in their faces. They ended up breaking most of the bricks, seriously Wei Minzhi, you should have told them to be more careful, and you should have been more careful yourself. I am really glad that the boss payed them the amount that they wanted, even if they broke most of the bricks. I also noticed a boy holding about six bricks at one time. And all I could think of was "You should only carry three at a time, not six at a time!" I also kept expecting him to drop all of them and break them. When Wei Minzhi is talking about how much they will need to work for to buy tickets to the city, they talk about working at the factory again, moving enough bricks to make enough money in two days for eight hours a day. And they all said that that would take too long and that they would get tired, so why not just do it in four days instead of two? Then they would only have to work for four hours a day. Boy, I would not like to be in this girl’s way, she stops at nothing until she gets what she wants or needs. Walking all the way to the city, yikes! Though there was one person who drove the rest of the way, good old person, you aren't shameful like the other people. You helped a poor thirteen-year-old girl walking alone at night, all the way to the city. This movie is sort of sad, this poor boy is lost in this giant city without any relatives to go to. And this thirteen-year-old is the only person who is looking for him. She is "Obnoxious, but consistent." (Draw with Jazza). ;) I am glad the movie people helped Wei Minzhi find her student, Zhang Huike. This is a really good movie, it is in Chinese, so it is a little different to watch, but it is still a really great movie. Thumbs up people!
